The most
important aspect of RGMVP’s Project Management
approach is to provide continuous sensitive
support to the poor. Its Project Management Unit
(PMU) is dedicated to providing this support
through a robust Management Information System.
RGMVP also deploys the Project Management
approach to ensure that all development
initiatives follow predictable progression tied
to milestones, benchmarks and schedules
culminating in quantifiable deliverables.
Rigorous monitoring aids this approach and also
results in learnings from and experimentation in
the field.
Experimentation and continuous learning have
been a part of RGMVP’s strategy since inception;
in fact, many of the processes and programmes
incorporated have been a result of a detailed
study of best practises followed by similar
development projects in India and globally.
This strategy is based on the following:
- Field and exposure visits to other
successful community development projects
and programmes, such as the Grameen Bank,
Bangladesh
- Dialogue with and visits of eminent
development professions to the project area
- Collaboration/partnerships with
like-minded organisations as well as those
working in the arena of social, economic and
community development
- Experience sharing with committed
community workers
Continuous experimentation and learning have
resulted in RGMVP refining its processes and
programmes, and adapting several best practices
from around the world into its work environment
in the Programme area.
